Significance
Vontimitta Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple is a famous Hindu temple in Andhra Pradesh state is dedicated to Lord Rama. The temple is present in Vontimitta town of Rajampet taluk in YSR Kadapa District.

History
Sri Kondandarama Swamy sanctuary has a place with the Vijayanagara rulers amid the sixteenth century. Kishkindakanda, one of the 7 kandas of the Ramayanam, is accepted to have occurred in Vontimitta, Kadapa. The sanctuary is 450 years of age. It is arranged on the Tirupathi - Kadapa expressway.

Legends
Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, a great devotee of Lord Rama lived on Tallapaka village very close to Vontimitta and is said to have visited Vontimitta temple and praised Lord Sri Rama in his Keerthanas.

Also, Kishkindakanda is believed to have happened in this region.

TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) has recently taken over the Vontimitta Temple. Mahakavi Bammera Pothana spent his whole life here praising Sri Rama and finally dedicated his Mahabhagavatham to God in Vontimitta.
