The temple enjoyed great patronage under him and the Kakatiyas continued the legacy. King Ganapathi Deva of the Kakatiya dynasty constructed the adjacent lake and made significant contributions towards the maintenance of temple activities. It is said that the Great Rani Rudrama Devi was an ardent devotee of the Goddess. The temple later fell under the patronage of the Vijayanagar rulers, who made significant contributions to the temple. However, the temple fell into oblivion after the fall of the Vijayanagar Empire around 1565 CE.  The temple was restored by an ardent devotee named Sri Maganlal Samaj in 1950 CE and has seen increasing popularity ever since.
